How to Measure For Arch Top Shutters
For Composite Wood Shutters
What You’ll Need Before Measuring

Tape Measure

Pen and Paper

Ladder (if necessary)
Arch Windows
Step 1: Measure The Width of Your Window
For accurately sized arch top shutters, start by measuring the width of your window. We recommend measuring the window opening rather than including any trim detail around each window. Always measure the width at the top of the window and the bottom of the window. Record the SMALLER of the two measurements.
The rule of thumb is that each shutter should be half the width of your window.
Step 2: Measure The High Point of Your Window
The “high point” of arch top shutters is the length from the bottom of the shutter to the tip of the shutter’s arch.
Record the height measurement from the bottom of the window (B) to the tip of the window’s arch (A). Always measure twice for accuracy.
Step 3: Measure The Low Point of the Arch
The “low point” of arch top shutters is the length from the bottom closest to the edge of the shutter to the “low point” of the shutter’s arch radius.
Measure from the bottom of the window (C) to the beginning of the window’s arch (D). Always measure twice for accuracy.
